Under the name of CST Welfare Centre, a Carpentry training facility was started in 1980 as a memorial of the Silver Jubilee of the CST Congregation. This Centre gives the candidates training in Carpentry so as to make them employable. Preference is given to the boys who, for some reason or other, could not complete their High School studies and hence are unable to get admission in the ITC.
Training is given in the fields of furniture manufacturing, hand-carving, upholstery works, etc. This centre has now become a full-fledged wooden furniture manufacturing outlet with an attractive showroom for display and sale of a variety of household furniture, and has earned several prestigious clients because of the high quality of the wood used as well as due to the attractive workmanship. |
